That is true diesel engines are not environment friendly It is said that diesel engine emits around 40 toxic things - soot, unburned hydrocarbons and other harmful byproducts and many more.So you can well imagine the damage these engines cause.

One of my friends has a diesel car, every second day her car has to be dragged to a garage. There are so many extravagant expenses every time. She curses herself for opting for diesel car.

I wonder what year car she has. If it was American made, there was a period of time between the 1970s through the 1980s and into part of the 1990s that diesel cars were poorly made. If I'm not mistaken (which I could be ) Europe has a ton of diesel cars on their roads and they seem to be doing fine. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Yup, diesels of the '70s and '80s had problems to varying degrees. The GM Oldsmobile 260ci and 350ci diesels were somewhat notorious on reliability, but all diesels have improved since then, fortunately. A real problem in the old days was getting them to start in very cold climates.

One of these days the economy will turn around, gas prices are indeed already falling, and people will want sport trucks and big SUVs again. When that day happens not even having a pretty lady stand next to a Prius will make it sell, lol.
