Wait, I don't really understand your idea. By groups, do you mean boards? Or just threads? Or what? Usergroups?

Each group would be an individual thread.

So basically...an off-topic board?
I don't really see the point. If a group of people want to talk about a game, they can make a thread in the appropriate forum. We had a Diablo II thread that went on for a while, mostly due to Alias and Tommy, then me as well.

Good idea, though I'm not sure how easily it would be to implement it. Obviously you could go the inefficient way, where someone like PMs an admin, who then creates the board and makes him/her mod of it. There might be a hack somewhere to make it easier.

If we're talking about making individual boards for everyone that applies for one, we had it for a very short time when it first came out (there was a hack). Turns out it was against the vbulletin contract (this board software isn't free), and they asked everyone to remove it. It's a no can do, sorry.

It's against the vBulletin contract? That's retarded.

Yeah it was a long time ago, I don't remember exactly what it was all about. vBulletin wasn't pleased though.

Maybe they're like "it's as if they have a vBulletin board, except they're not paying for it." Fools.

Heh, heh, you'll think I'm lying but I was actually the reason why the first Clubs & Clans forum got started. Gamewinners.com was the first board to have that forum from what I know and it still has it to this day. Ask anyone there what the S.A.P. is and they can probally tell you. Man, I was a legend in those day's. Good times, good times...
BTW, vbulletin is what GW uses as well.
