kerry said he had met with or he had talked to or he had heard from 'foreign leaders', who wanted him to defeat bush, but he refused to tell anyone, who these leaders were. it appears as if north korea is stalling talks about its nuclear weapons program, maybe they hope to hurt bush and to possibly get a better deal from a democratic administration next year. after all the last democratic president built two new nuclear power plants for kim yong il. so there have been jokes about, whether among the foreign leaders may have been castro or kim yong il or bin laden. after that the kerry campaign issued a statement, that they no longer accept endorsements from foreigners iirc and north korea also denied, that it supports kerry. still there are jokes about this and with north korea now calling the VP mentally deranged I remember having read in another messageboard about 'NORTH KOREA for KERRY" bumperstickers.

Depleted uranium
Depleted uranium strikes back:
" More questions over US military fatalities in Iraq"
"On July 31, the US Army Surgeon Generals office announced that it had dispatched teams of medical experts to investigate the causes of a severe pneumonia-like condition afflicting American soldiers taking part in operations in Iraq. The military informed the press that two healthy young soldiers had died from alleged pneumonia and approximately 100 personnel had fallen seriously ill. Since then, there have been at least four more unusual deaths of US servicemen in Iraq for which no adequate explanation has been made public.
(...)
The initial reports of a pulmonary edema, however, raise further questions about whether American troops are dying due to exposure to depleted uranium."

Hospital Official: Fallujah Dead Are Women, Children
Marines: Dead Were Military-Age Males
FALLUJAH, Iraq -- A hospital official in Fallujah claims many of the 600 victims who've died in the weeklong U.S. Marine crackdown in Fallujah were women, children and the elderly. But Marine Lt. Col. Brennan Byrne said an investigation of the dead will likely discover "95 percent of those were military age males."

I was thinking that perhaps this thread shouldn't be a sticky? I don't know if many visit this thread and the links presented here? (At the moment the last post is dated two weeks back.) And according to my count only two members have posted links here, so I'm not sure the thread is working as it was supposed to. It was a nice idea, but personally I'll rather have each issue in its own thread so it can be properly discussed.
If an issue is worth discussing it would be better to create a normal thread and present the links in it as have been done. That way it would get lot more views and replies than in here. The links presented here also stay quite detached in my opinion since there's not that much argumentation and discussion to support them.
This was just something that came to my mind while looking at the forum. Tell me what you think.

The idea was having the links posted on the front page to avoid having to search all over the forum for a given article.
And there are many articles worth reading that are not worth opening another thread for. Mainly subjects that have been discussed ad nauseum, like Iraq. If you open a new thread everytime you have a new article, the threads will disapeer into the back pages in a hurry.
But fine by me. If you want to search the entire forum everytime you want a given link, be my guest. Nobody reads the posted links anyway, so why should i care?

It was just a suggestion, so no need to sound so negative.
And I'd like to hear the mods' opinions also about this sticky.

Iīm not being negative, only realistic. There are plenty of articles here that no one bothered to read, even though it would only take a few minutes. And i picked up situations of people asking for links about something, even though they are posted here already. Not only no one has read the linked articles, they donīt even read the posts.
I donīt really mind, although there is that ONE link that i would shure like to see people read it. Itīs an Iraqi portal, leading to iraqi blogs and various sites. Itīs quite a good reading, if you wish to find out whatīs really happening in Iraq censor free.

If something is interesting enough, then anyone can begin a thread about the link. I routinely read the stuff posted here, but up to now, I simply haven't had a comment on them.
If you see something here (even if posted by someone else) that interests you, feel free to copy and paste it to a new thread.
