Xbox2 specs, good or bad.
Okay so xbox may decide to release their Xbox 2 console a year early in January 2005 but the specs just dont count up, they are dropping parts rather than adding and sony is adding rather than dropping, hmmm interesting aint it?
Yeah so the new Xbox will be impressive, fast-action, more realistic 3-D games but you gotta have a high-def TV to get the realism. Microsoft leeked out information to industry developers and publisers with the following xbox2 specs:
No more intel CPU, time to roll with the Big Boys and get the real deal IBM 64-bit microprocessor. These are the same chips that are in the Apple G5's
A special graphics chip designed by the you know who, ATI. this chip is supposed to be much faster than the R400 chip that ATI is soon to be releasing, but if you dont have a HDTV yet you may be missing out on those stunning 3-D effect, yeah sucks dont it?
Okay heres the kicker, I say this is definelty a BIG BILL GATES MISTAKE. The next Xbox wont be backwards compatitble so that leaves us current xbox owners stuck in the desert. Because of hardware and licensing fees it wont be possible, but wait how the hell did sony do it? Oh yeah thats right sony did a good move by not using out the counter computer parts.
So lets see here, Microsoft is trying to give itself some wiggle room so they can react to competitors, well Nintendo they dont have to worry about but big props go out to the marketing depart for the sony consoles, keep doing what you doing. The sony ps3 will have hard drive so could this mean that the sony PS3 will be more like the Xbox1 and the Xbox2 will be more like a PS2, yeah funny aint, can you image a xbox using memory cards, oh wait there goes that name Intel again, FLASH MEMORY? what good is flash memory if it can be trasnportable, I sure hope it is.
The Xbox2 will have only 256 megs of RAM but wait if Sony puts in more memory in the PS3 then Microsoft will.
Now on to the DVD Drive, as you know MS has something called the Blu-Ray its supposed to be the succesor to dvd drives, hmmmmm that may be why current xbox games wont be compatible on the xbox2, ok MS I see where you going with this now.
So we all know the xbox has a hard drive in it, that used for online gaming and storing the game art, but Microsoft is gonna save $50 because many developers chose not to develope some of their games for XBox live.
So telling the developer what will be on the new xbox2 wont make a difference at all, because they are pretty much ignoring the developers, wrong move didnt Nintendo do that once?
okay to wrap things up, I hypedave would like to see a hard drive in the xbox2, how can a console have full online capabilities and no hard drive, ther goes downloading maps and stuff. Sony isnt motivated enough to do a new console, why because they are already number 1, maybe Sony should design the next xbox console.
Yeah I know its gonna be easy for developers to design games for xbox2, current rumors says for ps3 its gonna be hard for developer to design games for, hmmmmmm. I see where Microsoft is going with this. Did you guys know that internally Microsoft has taken some Apple G5s to use for the xbox2 prototype, wow Microsoft taking advatange of apple arent they oh wait they did that when Window 95 came out.
So meanwhile we sit back and wait for the Xbox2 while sony is releasing their PSX and milking the profits from the PS2. I cant wait for the BIG xbox2 info releasing in march and in may.
