I have never heard of those bands in my life...
Are they old? I know the answer to that...yes they are. No wonder I dont know..How old are they really? like 70's or 80's ?

The Cardigans, last album released 2003. Mainly a pop band. THE best pop band that is. They had an album called Gran Turismo (Like the game) which was rock though. Foo Fighters, lead singer and Guitarist was Nirvana's Drummer, Dave Grohl. Their album One By One won the grammy for best rock album in the latest grammy show. Tool, metal? band. Last album maybe in 2002, 2003, who knows. I have a 2001 album for them. Jeff Buckley, probably the best artist ever. Rock, died in 1994.

Wow, you haven't heard of the Foo Fighters or the Cardigans either? You're really out of the loop.
Again, my tastes have changed, I'm steadily going to heavier rock, I can easily see myself drifting to hard rock/punk music in the near future. But for the time being:

Velvet Revolver
Slash's Snakepit
3 out of those 5 have Slash in them.
