Default Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines crashes to desktop.

I have no idea what the problem is. I don't get an error message or anything.
The screen goes black for half a second and then right back to the desktop. I
am clueless as to what the problem is. My system meets the system
requirements...I think. I have an HP Pavillion Entertainment Notebook dv1000.
I can run other games like Farcry, Warcraft3, and so on. Thanks.

If I remember well it can be because you don't have the GL drivers, update
your video drivers to the latest version.
