And you forgot the essay portion. Anyhow, the date is important - not to me
so much but to them. Having the wrong date and time can cause problems with
various programs and the results sit at the top of the newsgroups if they're
read by date which means a vast majority of the people will either delete
the questions they ask or go off on them in some of the groups. On to
another, and lighter, subject...
In ages past it was customary to post at the bottom. It was also customary
to snip posts too actually. Today so many people top post that I make a
point to have OE Quote Fix put the my text at the bottom. You can configure
OE to do so by default with a few registry settings if you wanted but you
probably don't want to. Now it seems that many people top post, a number
still bottom post, and people can't decide which is right. Personally? I
like the bottom. I means that hopefully the top will have been read before
people go looking a the answer. I also like to snip out the non-important
content to keep the messages loading quickly.
