Default fs2004 computers hangs with 747 and distorted sounds

Hello! About a few weeks ago I made a post about the same issue but I
only got one reply from two people with no additional help. To refresh the
matter, here is my problem summarized: While using the Boeing 747 and
changing views the sounds become distorted and my computer halts. I must to
do a "power" shut down and reboot! Ms/Mrs. Pluta suggested it was a sound
problem and i think she maybe correct. However, i emphasis that the problem
exists only with the 747. Why dont the other aircraft cause the same
problem? In other words I am fairly convinced that some 747 specific sound
file is corrupted or damaged. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game
from the original cd several times but the same problem persists! This
leads me to the conclusion that my "purchased" software package was
defective all along.

Could i please have my software replaced or at least be given some other
reasonable alternative? Many thanks and I hope to get some reply!!

P.S. I am sorry for sending my previous posts in the form of email rather
than posting to group. I am new to newsgroups.

Nick,

Some sounds may have been saved with different types of compression, I
rather do indeed suspect your sound card/chipset not being able to
handle it. Did you run dxdiag.exe and lower the sound acceleration to
see if that helps? Did you update the sound drivers?

All the best!
