Default DirectX2 and DirectX 8.1 compatability

If a game is DirectX2, will my DirectX8.1 computer be compatable with it?

Yes, DirectX is made to be backwards compatible.
The only caveat is that some games were not written
in such a way that they could take advantage of this.
