I am a Belgain, everybody will know it now! I was born in La Hestre ... but lived in Binche with parents till I was 18 and joined the Navy.
Binche is famous for its carnival. It is now recognized as part of the cultural heritage of mankind by UNESCO.

Our carnival is the most traditional and most probably the oldest one in the country. There are very strict rules to be followed or you would be banned. Binche is a small medieval town (10,000 people). People are very proud of their traditions. The international carnival museum is very famous as well. Purchase a ticket to Brussels and I'll pick you up at the airport. You'll get a guide and a bed, breakfast, lunge and dinner. Western european cookery!
