Religion is not a popularity contest....and in a sense I agree with Shane....who cares. I only say that because no matter what religion you believe in....if it works for you and adds to your life....than it is the most popular!

Some people are like Slinkies.. They're not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

I think it is different now, it is one world.There used to be such times when you can say people were brain washed but now it is nothing like that.I think the scene has improved.

I don't really see what the point is with this thread...like what shane says...who cares...the most "popular" religion as you put it depends on the area of the world you are in...but still it's not a popularity contest.

Whatever be the religion, their basic teaching are similar. They all tend to teach their followers about humanity. Anyway, i think the most popular religion can be either christianity or islam.

Islam is in the lead right now with how things are going in Iraq but Christianity is still on the run with christians getting dragged in the Beijing Olympics. I'm sure we'll be seeing Christianity back on top when Gibson makes a sequel to Passion or when a priest gets time for child molestation.

I think there are no popular religions because almost all of the religions are well known. maybe in some countries, Catholic and Christian are the most popular or well-known religions. but in other countries, they also have their own popular religions.
