Default Food prices

When gasoline prices were higher this summer, I noticed food prices go up. Now that gasoline prices have fallen, I haven't seen a corresponding drop in food prices, have you?

I haven’t seen on price drop on foods either. I don’t think that it has to do with the economic crisis but with those greedy businessmen. They want to fill their pockets even if it’s affecting other people’s lives.

I have seen only a very slight decrease in food prices, but not nearly enough in my opinion. At least we have the gas prices down though. I hope it stays that way.

It seems that in the States, food prices are a lot cheaper than here in Canada (my boyfriend is there at the moment so that's what I'm basing this on, correct me if I'm wrong). Right now, it's a huge struggle... we're living off the basics, which we can only afford like... every few weeks at best. The VERY basics for three people for about a week is 200 or so. It sucks.

I was talking to my wife about this since she does the shopping for our family. She says what's happening is that food companies are being sneaky and keeping prices the same, in some cases, but reducing the size of the packages.

It is seriously getting too much-every basic commodity has been made so expensive. Food items are worst hit- the prices that go up hardly come down.
