Which to buy??
I've been meaning to buy a new cellphone like...in the next couple of days.
It's either the Nokia 6680 or the Sony Ercisson w800, but I'm confused which to get. And is there any chance they won't work in the USA?
Here's a comparison:

Sony Ercisson w800 has no current U.S. carriers according to www.phonescoop.com
I can't even find the Nokia phone on there, unless it has more than one model name. Nokia 6682 / 6681 looked pretty similar, or the same.
Phonescoop has a better comparison page thing. http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/com...%5D=&id%5B%5D=

It seems that the market over there is focused on the local products from what I saw. So we get anything not made in the U.S. (i.e. Nokia...etc) first.
What do you mean by U.S. carriers? You mean sellers? 'Cuz I'm not buying it from the U.S. I just want it to work there. Though I feel a carrier is something else. I heard the w800 should be there soon.

I'd go for a Nokia over an Ericsson, absolutely.
However, if you plan on using an American cell phone plan, I'd purchase the phone from the States. They have more or less the same models here, but the model numbers are different.
The thing is, I am not sure that America utilizes the GSM network. I think it's called something else, a slightly different technology. I think it utilizes the 1900 frequency, so at least roaming would work.
Also keep in mind that there are some US carriers and plans that insist you use their phones, in which the SIM cards are attached to the phone in a manner that they cannot be removed by the consumer. Therefore once you leave that carrier/plan behind, the phone is useless. It's not like in Europe where you buy the phone for like 300 dollars and then pick and drop carriers and plans at will.

I would normally choose a Nokia too. But with these two, the w800 seems to excel in specifications.
One thing, what are carries and phone plans? The system over there is something I'm unfamiliar with.

I dunno. The one you mentioned Sandals is inferior to the two I want to choose from. But if it works there...
Nevermind, my mother just went out and I told her to get me the w800.

Yes, however it is a phone with a big screen, bluetooth and a simple camera. All that other stuff is useless.

I guess you're right about that. I have to say, though. Lately, I dislike mobiles like this where you can flip it open, I just don't like the design anymore.
