I think the 5 posts an hour is awfully restrictive!! I read all the new posts...reply and do so at least 5 times...then I feel like playing games and I cannot do so for more than 1 hour before having to post again!!! Playing games you get into a groove, and having to leave to make 5 more posts, erases that groove!! I am a dedicated member and feel like I am being penalized on the days I want to play games! What about all the days that all I do is post and reply to mail...or start a new thread??? I do not get credit for those!!
I absolutely love this site...it IS a community, so why do you punish those that are faithful to the community??
What are all the members thoughts on this subject...I would find it very interesting to see how they feel!

Because the arcade is a small portion of the board, and only those who are continually active should be allowed access.

I think a good idea would be to make it so that you need x total posts to play, then you have unlimited access. Like once you reach 100 posts, you can play all you want or something.

Or, once goop comes back, buying arcade access is a great idea.

How do you decide what is active? The only way I can think of is having x posts in y time, which is what's in place already.

The point is, the arcade shouldn't be your main focus here. If it is, then this place is not for you.

At Gaming XS, we have a rule where you have to have 15 posts before you can play in the arcade, people even complain about that, you guys have to understand that websites/forums can never survive if people do not all contribute to making new threads and posting more. I personally think the 5 posts and hour rule is good, many a time I have seen members spend hours and hours in the arcade playing games and then log out without even making a post.

I'll look into this when I return, there are several options I have running in my mind but I have yet to shares those ideas. All of your ideas are cool and very easily to implement at the click of a button. I have to go now.

Hey I have no problem with the 5 posts per hour rule, and i agree with you diablo..my rule isnt that good after all. I personally dont care if its 10 posts over 2 minutes.. I just like to post more than the arcade..

Hey there me again....just want you all to know that I have no problem having to post...I enjoy the posts very much...and make new threads, I just feel that as an active member I should be able to play without the restrictions...at least not as severe a restriction. I do enjoy arcade games..and will not lie, it is what brought me to this site. Sinc e then I have come to enjoy this community an many times just post and not play at all...but when I feel like playing...I want to be able to do so on my own time without restrictions. I know it is a difficult situation, but maybe as Diablo said...after a certain amount of posts...proving that you are a dedicated member....or maybe you need to post every day in order to play....I don't know, I don't want to upset people,...aghhh sorry if I have done so!

If it's really arcade games you want, you can probably find the exact same games on other sites, if you have trouble making the 5 posts or something.

I do not want to go to another site.....I like this one! It is not only arcade games I want, I just want to play them uninterupted when I do play!
