I think drug use among teens is much more common than parents realize. Early detection of drug problems in teenagers is necessary so that the teen can get early treatment.
What reasons do you think are responsible for the teens to indulge in such activities and what can be done to prevent it?

I think the max effect is the peer pressure that leads to drug abuse. The best way that I think is, be your child' best friend and guide them the best possible way, so that life doesn't show them the harsh streets.

I think sometimes peer pressure is responsible for drug use, but never underestimate the powerful drive of the teenager to experience more of life than he or she has before. I think curiosity is a greater force than peer pressure will ever be.

I agree that peer pressure is responsible for this but its the duty of parents to teach their kids about its harms. you cannot force them for doing anything but you can make them aware about its disastrous effects.

Peer pressure, curiousity, guidance, and community are all good reasons for teens to lead them with such activity. It all depends on how close you are to your kid I guess. I agree with Sanju123 in this.
