It's been said that Sid Meier's Civilization series is one of the best-selling and most popular franchises ever, with four major editions since its premiere 17 years ago as a MicroProse Software game. I have played most of the major editions (with the exception of Civilization III) and owned the original, the second, and the fourth version (plus the Beyond the Sword expansion).

I'll talk a bit more about it (since it's my favorite game) in other posts, but right now I want to know if anyone here knows the series, has played it/owned it, and which version (if any) does he/she currently have/play?
