I believe that Counter Strike (CS) is one of the most popular multiplayer game ever made for PC. Based on the Half Life engine it was and is surely the best game till the date. What do you say?

I think in the past, yes. But today I don't think so. I much prefer COD4, much realistic and graphics is good. I remember when Counterstrike was very popular, I always play with my brother and I can't win because of his jumping thing. geez

I quite agree with kathleen, I was addicted with this game before and to tell the truth, It WAS the best multiplayer game but up to date, I think not.

Going by what stats Steam offers, it is one of the most popular Multiplayer games till now, and also involves some of the biggest money in tournaments , So maybe the graphcis look a bit old but the gameplay charm is still present.

I agree with you with the tournaments but it just isn't what it used to be. Starcraft still has tournaments I think, Unreal Tournament also has an official tournaments so in conclusion, there are too many great games to consider to announce that Counterstrike is the best game up to date.

It is no longer the best in graphics and realism (COD4 surpasses it) but it is certainly one of the most addictive and fun games. I think it is too subjective for there to be a true "best" video game.

Counterstrike was one of the games I remembered that stayed on top for a very long time. Really one of the top games, until it was toppled by MMORPG, Ragnarok I think. But before that, I remember that almost all the computer shops are filled with the sounds of Counterstrike. Those were the days.

Those were the days... Waking up going straight to the computer shop just to play counterstrike, making bets... and yeah, Ragnarok killed it... I spent more money in Ragnarok than I was supposed to with counterstrike... But still, Thumbs up for Counterstrike.

Better played with people you know. Cheaters just ruin the fun. Not to mention people who just hide and wait til their hair turns white.

Its a great game. I played iit for a long time. Halo killed that game though in its tracks. Plus Halo was a better game over all. Those cheaters really got on my nerves until I realized I could cheat too. :P
