PREVENTABLE diseases like AIDS getting more attention than unpreventable things like Cancer? I cant stand on the news of how they are always saying stuff like "AIDS research gets more funding" when that money should be going to other things like Cancer research. Dont get me wrong, because I do think that a cure for AIDS does need to be found, but the bottom line is that AIDS is PREVENTABLE. If people didnt share needle, or have unprotected sex, or if women in Africa who have AIDS didnt have 9089745984758 children who will also get AIDS than most of the AIDS virus would be wiped off the face of the Earth (except in the cases where its not preventable to certain people IE rape victims).

Ummm,
A) If you have unprotected sex at any point in your entire life, no matter how much you think you trust and love a person, you are at risk for AIDS. This includes if you are married.
B) AIDS is not preventable if you do not know how to prevent in, which in many places in the world the governments and/or religions do not allow for correct treatments. For exmaple, in some parts of Africa, people think AIDs can be cured by having sex with virgins. This isn't becuase they're stupid, but it's because it's what you've been told is true.

AIDS is bad. Cancer is bad. Let's fight them BOTH.

The reason we are researching AIDS and its prevention is because it is much more prevalent in Africa, where I think the statistic is something like 1 in 4 people who have AIDS in some parts of the continent. This is not because so many people are prostituting sex like in the Asian sex capitals of China and Japan, but because the 3rd world countries that dominate Africa go through processes that are so unsanitary that AIDS is very easily spread, and because black people genetically produce more testosterone than whites in both males and females, therefore lowering the level of their immune system, and making them the most susceptible race in terms of possibilities in contracting AIDS. Consequently, it affects and kills so many people, and is thus spread so quickly, that it since the prevention of AIDS is in site ( I believe they have recently found a way to produce a vaccine ) whereas Cancer is a genetic disease that is being researching in the Genome project, mind you a 13 year project that has been funded with billions of dollars, as well as cloning.

Anyway, I suggest researching something before you whine about it. Thanks ;)

I never said AIDS is always preventable. In fact I gave an example where there are times where it is not preventable. Yes, we should fight both, but my whole point was that the media gives everyone the idea that AIDS is gonna infect the whole world when it is mostly preventable and Cancer should be the disease that gets the most attention and funding. Theres no such thing as equal rights for preventing diseases.

Well, if by preventable, you mean that no one has sex, then I guess your suggesting that we not reproduce? . . .

No, i suggest that moronic teenagers shouldnt experiment in sex without going to a doctor to check if they have diseases. LMAO, that was the dumbest thing I have ever heard you say. No Offense.

The problem is the cancer is not just "the" disease that should scare people. There are 100s of kinds of cancer, but there is really only one AIDS.
AIDS kills far more people than one specific kind of cancer. When we start getting cures for cancer, they'll come one at a time. For example, just because you can cure skin cancer doesn't mean you can do a damn thing about breast cancer. AIDS, though, once cured, will most likely have a common cure.
No, Darth isn't being stupid... I agree with him on that. Teenagers aren't really even the ones spreading AIDS, mostly... Most teenagers do not have AIDs, as if you get it from a parent, you likely get it young. So you would have to have sex with older people who had it to get it.
