Besides, this is the internet. How is this gonna make a difference? It says Happy Holidays, so that isn't the problem. And the thing is, in America you can say what ever you want about religion (i think) And I think Benson is hosting this forum from America. ;)

Forget about the Chinese New Year! (no not really) but still these boards are based upon what Benson wants to put. If Benson were Chinese, he could make it a Chinese New Year style if he wanted.

Wtf would he do for the Chinese new year?  He's not gonna make a damn temnplate for all the damn holidays! That's why it had the broad statement, as others have mentioned, of "Happy Holidays", not referring to a certain one. Sure the template colors are green and red, but that's the colors you see the most around December, I'm sure it doesn't offend you, so don't make a fuss over it.
