Default Why are coaches called geniuses but don't always make the right decision?

Take for example Steve Spurrier. Offensive mastermind. Winning the game by one point against the Giants in New York. Why not pass it. One of the worst quaterback groups in the league and you have one of the best running backs Stephen Davis. Hand of the ball to Stephen Davis right. NO! Throws the ball and eventually loses.

Mike Martz. Another offensive mastermind. He has the best player not questions asked in Marshall Faulk. Give him the ball right. NO! Pass the ball and start 0-5. Starts giving him the ball and win 5 in a row.

Why is everyone so pass happy and affraid to hand it off.

Great Deffense + Excellent Runnig Game - Turnovers = Super Bowl

I agree Ali. The running game is a lost art in the NFL. Take my Raiders. They run the ball at most 15 times a game, and that's pushing it.

Yea did you see the Skins this weekend. They ran the ball 39 times and threw it like 24. LaVar Arrington won the game in the end. Running the ball wins the game.

not all the time, but i agree with the coaching comments...

and that whole formula thing u got- add good quarterback, because thats what can make or break a game. i mean, if any of you watches college football then you'll know that a team has to have a good quarterback.

maryland had 4 losses in a row and all those games the quarterback stats were crappy with interceptions. maryland then won the next three straight and the qb had great stats in all of them.

Like I said - turnovers. When the Ravens won Trent Dilfer just played not to lose. He didn't screw up and won a Super Bowl.
