Default Violence and Games

Do you really think that by playing violent games, you will act violently in real life? Or does it motivate you doing something that you wouldnt do normally?

Personally, I think its different for everybody. There are some people who just get into the game, and try to re-create a version of the game in real life. Also, there are others, who can get the difference and control themselves.

BUT, sometimes, I kind of get a strange feeling, to get a chainsaw and cut through somebody like I used to in doom :meh:

Nope.

My little cousins (8 and 12) have seen violent movies and played violent video games since they were old enough to play video games.

They are both good children with good manners that get streight A's in school.

Hell they've never even gotten in trouble at school

My grandparents raised them very well. I think it is all about how the child is raised. I think if they are brought up to know and understand you don't hit people unless you are defending yourself, That you respect people unless they show you disrespect, that they know that guns kill people and that killing people is moraly wrong, then they will grow up to be good people.

Gun's don't kill people, young children that aren't educated in the significance and moral principles of not taking a life kill people.

It's not the games that drove me mad. It was all of you..

...

I wrote an article for NintendoFire a while ago about this subject. I think matrix has a copy of it, if I remember correctly. Pretty much, people have enough sense to not shoot people at their local post office after playing Grand Theft Auto 3. If they don't, they're mentally fuckin' ill and need treatment.
