Yeah, courts ruled a lot of things... But the school will try to tell you otherwise, which is why you need to know your shit. You need to know exactally what courts ruled and use it to fight for your rights. Your friend's anti-war posters are something he is allowed to pass out and put on walls, but if they school takes them down, they take them down. The best way to get your opinions out is by passing out papers, not hanging them up, that way they cannot stop you becuase you're not "polluting the walls," or whatever else they might say. The armbands might have been ok at your school, but many schools would flip out. But remember the 1st amendment, and remind your teachers of it.

Well, that's why you protest... because the authorities at school think they're God and well, it won't be teachers you're protesting against, since they do not make the rules... It will be the staff, who do not deceide your grades. If you seriously think the teachers are plotting against you, make copies of all the work you're doing in class.
Well, if it's a school board decision, firstly, it's legal under the eyes of the state, and the federal government, as we have elected these officials. Secondly, a Principal of a school is allowed to enforce the dress code in any way they please, as he or she has the privilege to determine what interferes with the pedagogical process and what doesn't.

A couple of friends and I "acquired" about 3 boxes of paper Krispy Kremes hats and we distributed them about the lunch room. Almost everyone put their hats on and there were so many hats that the teachers didn't have a chance!
Now that is a protest
