i can't really speak for him.. but altho professional, this doesn't look like Aku's site.. it looks more like your site with his name just plastered on it...

if you want professionalism, and the sense of both of you in a joint effort, call him and ask.. considering the distance maybe a phone card would be wise.. you two should design it with a common idea in mind, and sometimes AIM sorted loses the sense of that joint vision thing

as it stands, it doesn't look anything like a site aku would be in... it doesn't feel like his personality is in it.. that kind of cheapens it..

aku is workin on his long gone 3d skillz. he just quit his job and now he has some time to work on his 3d stuff before he starts his next job. As a matter of fact....that girl in the banner will be replaced with a 3d rendered version. plus he's workin on some flash stuff for the site. guyv is also helpiun us with the flash stuff carn ^^ aku is just catching up ^^

Very nice... the 3d object bothers me cause it seems like it's too cramped and needs to be maybe zoomed in on a little bit, or less spikes and more smoothness between the spikes? I dunno, my opinion... and the color inside the "tagboard," "features," and "affiliates," boxes annoys me, cause it seems like their ought to be a drop shadow on that as well, since the color inside the box is the same as the bg and the bg has a dropshadow... either that or change the color inside the boxes? My personal annoyances, but other than that, great job! =D

aku doesn't fucking have to catch up sean.. he has a raw talent that you nor guyv have and you know that

why not put it to some use? why not take his artistic ability and your cg ability and add them togeather to make something more refined and personalized to a site that you AND him have togeather..

I'll ask aku what he thinks, thats not a bad idea. Plus since he has more time on his hands that may be a viable solution. ^_^

and xero thx for the comments, there actually is a drop shadow but its kinda hard to see, I might have to modify it a little. and besides, if I get aku in on the design then we might redesign some of the colors and layout.

Also another factor is the fact that in order to make this site viewable we'd have to use flash. Flash is a bandwidth hog app that might make this layout useless. I'm probably gonna have to redesign this layout to make the content area more viable as well; make things easier to use and see. You have to think about it...most ppl dont have flash, and if they do its flash 5. Even more so....if someone doesnt have flash they cant view the site at all. If I use java scripting ppl can still view the site its just that some of the effects wont be animated.

We'll see what happens. *goes back to photoshop*
