Well you should a little bit unless you really don't want to have any friends and be a downcast. People who don't care about they act around others usually will have a low self-esteem. Trying to look the best isn't all that important, but I'm guessing you don't want people to back away from you every lunch period.

Sorta... I'm pretty popular and have a lot of friends in school, and I know that I wouldn't want some weird kid to come over to my table and start wiping peanut butter off his shoe- lol... I'm sure you wouldn't be like laughed at out of the school, but people would consider you more immature more than anything else.

That's the point, you wouldn't want it so he does it. ;) Trust me, doing something like that would NOT make you lose your friends unless they weren't really friends in the first place.
