Default Important Consoles

Atari 2600 VCS - Revolutionary

NES - Revived videogaming

PSX - Made Videogames Mainstream

Dreamcast - First Online console (well, not really, but the first online plan that didn't suck)

i'd say you forgot xbox introducing hard-drives allowing ingame music of your choice, downloadable content, quicker loading times, negating the need for expensive memory cards and most importantly, the ablitlty to create bigger, lasting and more detail worlds.

Actually, the Xbox has some SLOW load times...its the GameCube that has the fast loading times, but you're right about everything else you said. And let's not forget the GameCube...it introduced the handle into a gaming console...something very different.

yes but whats the importance of a handle? There is none ( i own a gamecube myself), but the handle is just pointless. Its not a handheld, its a console. Why would anyone need to move the gc that much and if they did you can fit your hand around the hwhole thing anyway...

I think your leaving out the magnavox oddysee - introduced the world to home gaming.

Also the Fairchild or Channel f one of those were the first to play interchangable cartridges..

It's pointless, yeah, but it still gives it some innovation.
