i need help with something.
ok..theres this image i have and i want to make it into an avatar..but theres a white bg and i cant erase it with out screwing up...is there a tool i can use to make it transparent??i remember someone saying about the magic wand tool..but..uhh..yeah.... heres the image..so u can see what i mean

You could use the magic wand and click on the white backround. This will select it, so that you can delete it, and replace it with a transparency.
I've never really tried to make an icon before, but I imagine that works well enough.

yeah but it wont let me delete it... which is my problem..lol like..it will select it..but nothin happens

Oh, I *have* Photoshop 7, but I use Animation Shop mostly, so I can just remove the white stuff easily

You have to make sure you paste the image onto a transparent backround.

here ya go. btw, when u click on an area with the magic wand, it selects it. simply press Delete on your keyboard to clear it.
