Guidelines for a Gamerz Live Moderator!
Title: Moderator
This is probably one of the most popular aspects that members want on ANY forums: the possibility of having a moderator position on a board. However, there is no assure possibility that we will appoint you a moderator. Matrix is the administrator in charage of moderating positions, and, it is HIS decision who should gain that power. So, here is the general aspects you should do to have a chance to become a moderator:
Posting and act responsible in general are the main aspects to have a sure chance. Asking a fellow staff member, moderator, or administrator will probably hurt your chances. It's annoying and it certainly doesn't help, and you probably will not become a moderator ever. Posting a petition doesn't help either, as is a thread for other members to agree or disagree with you. Nor does whining at the other mods. Just be an intelligent poster, be cheerful to everyone, follow the basic rules, and you could be a moderator.
If we need you, generally we'll ask, although occasionally we ask specific people to mod certain boards. Any suggestions for who would make a good mod is perfectly accpetable, but you must have a valid and solid reason as to why. The Gamers Live moderators and administrators will keep an eye on you for a bit to see if you really are a good poster.
If you really want to be a mod, act like one; be responsible, don't get into fights, be helpful, etc. If you see a problem that needs editing, let the user know, then let one of your mods know, which is an action that we appreciate greatly. Here are the main steps you should do:
1. Post well. Don't spam. Check your spelling. Avoid contractions. Spend time debating issues intelligently.
2. Never ask or say you can or would make a good moderator. Don't PM current mods and ask them to help you out or to tell us how cool you are.
3. Avoid enormous signature pics and big fake sigs like the plague.
4. Don't complain about things and/or debate the current roster of mods mind you, but to show people that do that you understand the way the boards work and what flies where and why.
5. Adding to a few discussions, topics, and intelligent posts here and there can make you stand out. Spamming boards to simply make you seem like a constant poster will clearly you look bad.
6. Post on more than one board please. Nobody gets modded for a certain board and a certain board alone. The general boards, the game boards, the entertainment bioards, all will need more coverage someday. Post on them and make yourself known.
My SIMPLE advice to those who'd like to be a moderator: Put it out of your mind and go about your posting business. Have fun! This is just a forum, after all. If it is destined, you will be called on.
And, as a side-note:
It may well be that you're perfect moderator material, but that doesn't mean you'll be modded. Moderation is only done when and only when it is needed, if a board has enough moderators, they don't create an extra one just because someone's good enough. And if a board looses a moderator, it doesn't mean there's necessarilly a vacancy anymore, a board that did require three mods may only need one now, in which case, if a mod quits, there's still no vancancy.
Thank you, fellow Gamerz Live members. I wish you all the best of luck in further months to all that want to be a moderator.
HOWEVER, AT THIS TIME, GAMERZ LIVE IS NOT URGENT OR EXPECTING ANY MODERATORS. THIS WAS CREATED FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO CONSIDER BEING ONE. ONCE THESE FORUMS GET REALLY BUSY, WE WILL ACCEPT MORE.
Everyone is allowed to become a moderator, but please not at this time.
Best Regards,
~ The Big N'

And remember, a forum with lots of mods and hardly any users wouldn't be very fun, now, would it?
