I agree with what seems to be the general consensus. I'm okay with someone being gay, as long as they don't start like rubbing me, but most gay guys, if you ever met one, don't do that generally.

Also 1 thing that's really annoying is when people say "wow, that's gay" or something, just using the word gay as like the word stupid, or something like that. Like someone tells someone else about a website and they go "that sounds gay."

Gays don't bother me as long as they literally don't bother me.. Secondly, I have nothing wrong with using "gay" in my dailiy speech, though I don't often use it around here. I think it is important for you to understand, Diablo, as well as the others who have feelings about this issue, is that meanings are in people, not in words.

A single word, out of context, has no semantic value, and as such, can not be thought of in that way. Words are only important as the vehicles by which we communicate the meanings we intend. Gay was simply the word chosen, fast, convenient, already something that, at the time of its conception, was ridiculed by average society as a campy alternative lifestyle that not many were willing to admit allegiance or receptance in such a group. Don't lose sight of what's important in these situations.

There are in fact two things, science and opinion; the former begets knowledge, the latter ignorance.
