I know, but, they're thinking that the war will bump up their ratings and more people will watch them, when they expect to see the shows they want to see, but it's really the war...then people will keep watching.

I love how desensitized that our society is to anything that's important.
9/11 rolls around. 3,000 people die, another thousand injured. They forget in two months.
The Columbia Crashes at Re-Entry - A week later, no one cares
War in Iraq Begins, people are dying - People don't even care from the get go.
We are watching the first full-scale American invasion of another country and its assets in over a decade, and people don't have the interest to care, or even the courtesy to let those who do appreciate it. This isn't a movie, like you seem to think. In fact, it's very real. I know people who are in Kuwait and Iraq, and I know people who have relatives and friends over there. It is important that we support those people, and if it means devoting a week of television to accurately covering the people that are risking their lives FOR YOU instead conveniencing you to watch some stupid bullshit about how your school is getting a new network system installed, or so you can watch friends or survivor, then that is the ethical and moral way about it. If you have an inability to watch what's going on, then don't. It's quite obvious that you are un-American. Yes, Un-American. If you won't give support in even the most minute and, though small, hardly insignificant ways then you, sir, are a plague and toxin that has infested the passionate red blood that flows through this country. And if you want to ignore those men and women, some of which who don't want to be there but refuse to ignore their duty to themselves and America, then I would appreciate it if you went to Iraq back 5 years and tell me whether anyone gives a flying fuck what you want to watch on television.
Ass.

Darth, you just got me thinking of one of the many quotes my old english teacher said...
"Sure, everyone was sad when 9/11 happened. Yet, three months later, we're all still yelling and flipping people off on highways."
I used to care about this, but I just hate the media....really hate it. I mean, 9/11 was sad, but after 5 days I was sick of hearing about it. I know what happened, and I was sad for those people. But the telemarketer calls, the teachers, some of the students, and the news just wouldn't shut up. Move on! Cover something else and try not to relate it to 9/11, sheesh....
The Colombia Crash had me annoyed from the start, especially when my mom tried "making" me care about what happened. Then the fact that one of the astronauts (Laurel Clark) was from my hometown made it worse...UGH! Some astronauts died from a space shuttle that was 20 something years old, and here people are attacking like it was a 9/11.
I have no interest in this "war" with Iraq either. No, I'm not against it, but I just don't watch or hear about it other than in my History class. That's all I really need to. ::listens:: oh look, my mom just turn on the news, and I hear something about Iraq! Time to turn on some music...

I'll be glad when our armies get decimated with chemical and biological weapons so they will actually have some REAL news to report on.
