People say FFX is easy because they can beat major bosses in 3 hits. Well that is easy, but you need special hidden weapons(and aeons) to do this. People get these weapons by asking other people and reffering to guides (online or otherwise).

If these same people would play the game without extra help would they get these weapons and aeons? Not likely. Without them the game is pretty hard, actually very hard.

I played the game without refering to a guide and could not beat the 4th last boss without getting help and getting a special aeon (Anima). Without Anima I would not have beaten the game at all.

IMO the celestial weapons and extra aeons are mean't to be secrets, not common knowledge (I'd go as far to say they were cheats). The reason FFX is so "easy" is because everyone knows about it.

Videos (in genreal) have become easier, one of the reasons is we have the internet to refer too.

I Agree with most of your points, yes, faqs are a lot easier to find on the internet now, so you dont have to shell out $10, but its entirely your chocie if you want to get help or not.

The guides out today are no where near as extensive as FAQs online. Check out the Arena section of the FFX guide, it's not helpful at all. Only lists the items that you can win/steal/bribe. And they're the toughest bosses in the game, but the strat guide doesn't give you an start for them.

I agree that the weapons arn't part of the game as to that you have to get them. A lot of people actually have trouble with last boss when they do no sidequest. But everyone has to fight the battle at the top of Gagazat(sp) on their own though. ;)

Really, you don't need to get the weapons unless you decide to do the arena. Same with armors.

It was easy. Hell, in the last fight, you couldn't die no matter what. The boss would alwasy use full-life on you.

It was even easier than FF7

Yu Yevon wasn't really the final boss. They just had to finish the story by you beating him. And you don't want to go through fighting all your aeons again do you? Braska's final Aeon was the real final boss. And he is challenging if you don't get damage break and 9,999+ HP. Which you will have to do sidequests for. Hence, they're more like the cheats for the game like the author originally applied.

i have a guide and can't be bothered to complete it even though i just killed seymour omnis in 1 hit from Auron which delt 99,999 and i barley ever use my guide

yeah, uides today are crap compared to online ones, but they are better, because the provide you with maps, colour and they're easy to access, instead of scrolling down miles. But, online ones do include more info, and loads of bits guides miss out,. and of course, their free.

If you're complaining about FFX's difficulty, you should play Shinobi. You'll stop complaining about FFX. And every other game.
