You know, screw the cutscences, pansy-ass villans *cough Sephiroth cough*, and extrememely long summon and spell sequences. Harken back to the days of FF1-6 on NES and SNES. Which one was your favorite?

My personal favorite is FF6, featuring one of the greatest storylines in a game as well as one of the most vile Villans ever, Kefka.

My second would be FF1, the game that started it all (and is also extrememly challenging).

BTW, games such as FF: Mystic Quest don't count (Like anyone would vote for Mystic Quest anyway), its only the base series.

I would vote for Mystic Quest simply because its the only one of those I have played. Only Final Fantasy game I own. Back on the NES and SNES I had never heard of them, so I never got any of them.

Mystic Quest doesn't count.

Also, do you guys mean FF3j (Japanese game never released outside of Japan, and never remade for PS1) or FF3(actually japanese FF6)?

My favorite is FF2 (4 in japan). Cecil and Kain were some pretty sweet characters.
