Default E3 In Review

Another year of E3 has passed, and what a show it was.  Companies such as Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony, Square-Enix, Ubi Soft, EA, and all those other developers attended the show to show off their upcoming products.  Some of the new games may have been disappointing, but others were mind-blowing.  Each developer had their own booth, which much creativity was needed to create an eye-catching, well-lit, enormous booths.  Now, I'll review all three of the major game companies displays for this year, explaining the best titles, and I'll come up with the overall E3 winner of 2003.

Nintendo @ E3:
This year at E3, Nintendo didn't have as good of a selection as I thought they would, but, of course, there were quite a few blockbuster titles that swept away the show floor...I'm talking about F-ZERO and Mario Kart: Double Dash.  There were other great titles, like Mario and Luigi, Advance Wars 2, and MGS: TS, but, Nintendo's show wasn't the best that it normally is.

Microsoft @ E3:
Microsoft's show was without doubt the best around.  One reason in specific; Halo 2.  I am absolutely blown away by the incredible graphics in the game; they've got to be the best graphics anyone could ever see in a console game this generation!  The storyline seems like it will be better than Halo 1's, too.  I'm really looking forward to that.  Other show-stoppers included Project Gotham Racing 2, and Fable.

Sony @ E3:
Sony's show was good, too, because of Gran Turismo 4, the announcement of the Playstation Portable, Final Fantasy XI, Jak 2, and that's pretty much it.  I haven't been a real Playstation 2 fan, but this year's show makes me want a few more games to add to my small PS2 collection.

So, who had the best show this year?  My vote goes to Microsoft.  What do you think?  Vote in the poll and check out the results later this week.

My vote goes to Nintendo. 1 game wont make a system great. Nintendo has more of the big hits coming out.

I'm saying Sony, for 1 main reason. I love handhelds, so PSP was my thing.

Yeah, you're right Jushiko...I love Nintendo more than any other company, but MS had Halo 2, so I had to say that...but I loved every Nintendo title (excluding Pokemon), that was shown at the show.

For one thing, Nintendo also had RE4, which IMO is right on par with Halo 2. Unlike Halo 2, RE4 had NO direct feed footage available, but even in the little trailer it looked awesome. Other games that were good were Viewtiful Joe and lets not forget RSIII. I believe if we wouldn't have been expecting so much this E3 would have been just fine for the big N, but as usuall are hopes are set so high, especially after an AMAZING year last year, with MP, SMS, and WW. However, I do agree, in my eyes MS won this E3, it just had the bigger title to pimp out. Nintendo should be strong next year.. possibly showing of Nintendos next gen system.

I think all of the companies will be trying to push and get their next system playable at next years E3 even though they will still need a lot of work.
