We have it so that as the cycles of the seasons go around, we utilize as much daytime as possible so that people could get all of their chores for the day done. I am not sure why we keep it though because people can work just as much at night as they do during the day now. Here in Indiana we don't change our clocks. We just jump timezones. Its split down the center of the state so the state decided that we dont have to change our clocks.
