Do looks really count? - Video Games Forum

I hear all this stuff about "It's what's inside that counts", yet every day I see things contradicting that theory. I think "It's what's inside that counts...(because I'm desparate)

Or maybe its a balance between the two?

Like a jerk who looks damn fine can get a "good" girlfriend, or an ugly nice guy can too. But then you would have to define a "good" girlfriend. She looks good? She is smart? Kind? Loving? Loyal?

And what if a less Jerk but definitely attractive guy comes into this? Is his balance a better one than the ugly/nice guy?

I know this makes no sense, but I'm tired.

well i cant get a girlfriend but all the girls here think i look good so maybe its not all looks, im confused.

I end up going out with guys that I've known for at least a few months and have gotten to know a little better. The only guy that I did go for with looks only lasted Homecoming night.

And he was mormon.

Let's just say it didn't work out.

Ive seen it all... and looks do really count... represents a desire to be something.. sometimes.. I dunno...

Yes, I believe looks count.......Sorry, if I sound silly but, come on, they do count......Without the looks department, what would catch your initial attention?......:cool:

Well I know I am not that great looking, and I used to be fat, but my gf didn't seem to care. We broke up then for different reasons, but we have gotten back together. I will say a lot of guys think my gf is hot, but I have gone out with other girls who aren't nearly as pretty because we were kinda friends and they were fun to be around. With my current gf I dont think I would care if something were to change the way she looks. Her personality and just the way she looks at me makes me happy. I can be totally pissed off at her, usually over something stupid, and she walk over or smile at me from a distance, and I am instantly not mad. That reminds me, the first time I saw my gf, I didn't think she was that pretty. She has this big birthmark on her throat that I kept kinda staring at. Then I was hanging out with her at the State Fair with some other friends, and it just kinda clicked that there was something more there and now I dont notice the birthmark, nor do I care because like i've told her before, she looks good no matter what.

Well, I've seen polls in which the women who participated said that they would prefer to have a man with personality above a man with the looks. Then again, women don't always give it to a guy straight, l ike a lot of guys do. We'll say if it's about looks, which in many cases that is what gets us interested in a girl in the first place, or whether it really matters to them if there is personality without the attractive looks. I think that the truth is, sometime during the month she'll like the sensitive, nice guy to talk to, but when it comes down to mating and reproduction, there is a portion of the brain that dictates the primal instinct to mate with the most attractive individual of the opposite sex, and in most women's eyes, that is physique and good looks.
