"Facts."
You mean... lies. Trace it back to a DIRECT SOURCE, not an article on the destruction of the family. Those are, well, just a touch bit biased.
Ayn Rand fits in becuase we're discussing selfishness. Du'r...

Yes.

Umm... I'd assume if someone was in a tomb, that they'd be dead already and there'd be no reason to check if she was alive. Plus if the drug she took was enough to fool doctors, what makes you think Romeo would have known even if he did check to see if she was alive? If she was in a tomb, why would he want to get her help as well? That'd be like me trying to get help for a person that's been dead for two days.
If I read this wrong, don't mind me.

...because a natural reaction when someone you love is dead is to deny, deny, and deny. To check, to check, to check, to call a doctor, reguardless of if it's hopeless.
Not kill yourself. At least, not right away.

Maybe somes, but not all. Some people randomly beat others when someone they love die, or in some cases, kill themselves. It depends on what type of person Romeo was...

The virtue of selfishness doesnt quite tie into a discussion on whether or not american families are progressing toward less divorces and abuse, however I will agree that the ending of Romeo and Juliet kinda sucked.

True, but we also know it wasn't love, becuase they met each other and didn't much talking. They kissed, ran away, talked about how physically beautiful each other were, had sex, and ran away again.
Then when she died, perhaps he was thinking "BEST. SEX. EVER. What is life without it?" And killed himself.
Either way, the play isn't exactally romantic... it's about passion, lust, and youth.
Fade - Darth and I were talking about implusiveness and doing what you want. I felt the quote was appropriate.

also adrian, while your statement tells of facts from the 50's and 70's, it doesnt provide enough evidence to support a positve trend in recent years since no data is told of that time...

These specific facts come directly from Peter McWilliams. I have checked many of them and found them to be accurate.

I'm not quite sure how Romeo's killing himself was selfish or how he didn't care about Juliet? Care to elaborate?
