Well it doesn't cover the entire year, but it's close enough. To summarize, PS2 games owned the charts but the Pokemon games are dominating and it's still selling at a mad pace.

Sometimes NPD will give up a big chart, sometimes they'll only give us a Top 10 for each system. But since the Japanese always release sales charts we can only talk about their most of the time. Even the best selling Xbox game (DOA3 at 170,000) didn't even sell half of what #20 sold. This is Japan we're talking about, Xbox is doing terrible down there. But it's doing fine in Europe and North America. Pokemon, however, is becoming a huge seller and a revived franchise. Just wait for the new Pokemon games coming out in 2003. Guess the series hasn't died down like some people thought. I'm sort of interested myself, especially in the GCN game coming out. I'm fully impressed with the fact that the new Zelda game just released and made that list...

Zelda came in at 19?! I thought mroe people would buy it, looks like Pokemon dominating to. Looks like ive got a news editor rival to keep up with!

woot for Kingdome Hearts. its nice to see people put behind the fact there are Disney characters in in and play it for what it is.

yea that is the chart for the YEAR and zelda did enough to make the yearly charts in 9 days, i'd say thats pretty damn good. It will be on next years too, well over a million since it will move at least another 500k copies in Japan, and it can easily do 700k in US. . .

And by the time Zelda GCN is released, both the GBA and GCN sales for Zelda will skyrocket

I think it sold out... I mean it realy dropped after the first few days on the top 10 list.
