Default Consensual Crime

I am trying not to irk too much to the point that this becomes a rant...
But consentual crime is one of the most absurb things that is left in a "free" place like America, or Canada, or England, or New Zealand...
If you happen to have any intrest at all, go to the liberary and get a copy of Ain't Nobody's Business If You Do by Peter McWilliams. It's probablly the best non-fiction book I've ever read. Keep in mind it's over 800 pages. (At least the hardcover edition is)
Anyway, It's getting to a point where I feel sick to my stomach every time sombody is arrested for another consentual crime. Altohugh it happens far too often for me to ever have any idea each time... But whenever I hear about it, I wince. It's disgusting.
The author of "Ain't Nobody's Business if you Do," died a few years back from the very things he spoke about in this book before he was even diagnosed with said dieseses and the events the book points out that occur to people happened just to him. The irony of it was terrible, and awful and sad, and shows just how oppressed people still are in the "Good old" U. S. of A.
For backroung on this, go here: http://www.outrightusa.org/page16.html

So what do you think about consentual crime? I'll try not to chew you out, but I still say READ. THE. BOOK.

I say make the age of consent 13, in every state. Plenty of teenagers are having sex, and it would be a lot smarter to let them make their own decisions, and suffer any possible consequences.

The book talks about how some 1/3 of prison cells on the average are occupied by people who commited consensual crime. This is retarded. What do you do when the jails are full of 18 year olds who slept with 17 year olds, and you need space for a real criminal?

We aren't just talking about sex, here, sweets... But that too. Staturatory rape, although actaully not mentioned in this book, is made into an issue when it isn't. RAPE is an issue, but statetory rape isn't, since there's no force invovled.
However, making the age 13 isn't going to help either. You have to take every single case by case. Was the personal mentally able to make their own decision? Not, How long have they been alive?

Them wanting to do it is the difference between rape and unconsented sex though.

I know you are talking about more then this, but I havent read that book and I dont plan to in the near future so I brought up what first came to mind.

Yeah, I know that. But a 6 year old doesn't know what they're doing. If somebody tells the 6-year old "No, you're supposed to do this." They don't know any better. By 13, almost everybody knows what they're doing. But why make it so that if they're 12 and 364 days they can get the person jailed but if it happened on their 13th birthday then, suddenly, they were smart enough to deciede? As I said, it's case by case.
