How do you guys handle breaking up with someone or being broken up with?

Breaking up with someone is a bitch......I just tell them the truth, that I have met someone new and would like to see where it will lead me......That I have had a wonderful time with them but that it is time to move on.....I wish them love and happiness and, I try to remain friends with them.

Oh, and I also give back everything they gave me, boy the diamond rings are hard to give back, but I feel necessary....I did keep the one though from my present ex, due to the fact that we were married and although it is a beautiful tear shaped diamond ring, I got it made into a pendant.....

I consider myself lucky never to have been dumped but who knows it may just happen, and I believe that I would handle it with understanding as I would want them to do also....

But breaking up is still a bitch.....That guilty feeling stays awhile, but face it, you and he have to move on, just separately..........

I have only ever broken it off myself once. And even then I did it online because I wasnt man enough to do it in person. The other times I have had someone else do it because it was my current gf, but we've gone off and on. I was too much in love with her to face her and say it, but it needed done because of other things that had happend. Getting broken up with hurts pretty badly too. The longer you go out the worse it gets. When my current gf broke up with me when we went out the first time I was crushed and had to avoid her for more than a week to keep myself from getting upset. Other times havn't been nearly as bad though.

ive never broken up with anyone.. ive always been broken up with... hmmmmmm... i tend to take it hard and go into a depression... but once it is over... i cant go back... hurts to know they did it once and could do it again... i still try to be friends... and still am friends with most of them...

Well I usually get depressed, but for some reason I have kept going back to this one that I am dating right now. Its the 5th time we've gone out since my freshman year (i'm a sophomore), but the last times had reasons we broke up and we finally talked it out over a period of time and things are going really well at this point. It'll be 5 months on the 14, and the longest we went before was 1 month.

If the girl has been "playing away" then I will just tell her straight up. "Your dumped". However,say if I just lost interest in the girl all of a sudden (sounds weird,I know..) I would just take it smooth "[Insert Loads Of Crap Here] So I think its best we should be friends,nothing more"

Not really.............I don't think we had a chance, although we did the counceling thing....Still did not work, but I must say it was all for the best...........:cool: .......I am very happy now.......;)
