General News

What's Going On?
Secretly, the former and respected Blue Goop members started a forum so they could go back to the "old days." Benson, the leader of Blue Goop during the merge, sold Blue Goop to a buyer on E-bay, who owns it now. Gamerz Live Forums will become available shortly, and no longer will "www.gamerzlive.com/forums" redirect you to "www.boards.bluegoop.net." On behalf of Matrix, I invite everyone reading this to join Gamerz Live Forums when it starts.

With that said, please read the FAQ thoroughly.

General Questions

Who Are You?
We are the Blue Goop team, which consists of a select group of superiors out to make sure you're a good little child in our family.

How Do I Get That Honor?
By being one of the overall best posters on the board.

What's My Chance of Being One Soon?
Close to none, as there is already a great deal of people that we'd much rather promote than you.

What Is Goop?
It's a currency used only on this board, to buy things at the store.

What Is The Store?
It's where you can by things with your goop such as glow, custom titles, MIDI's for your profile, and the sort that makes you prance with glee.

How Do I Get Goop?
By posting, or winning contests. There are more and more special events running on Gamerz Goop every day, such as Image Contests and Trivia.

What Are Awards?
There are three types of awards: posting awards, member awards, and specialized awards. Posting awards are given out depending on how many posts you have. Member awards are given specifically by us (the superiors) to those that have gone past normal to become loved. Special awards are given usually for winning trivia rounds, or becoming the champion in an arcade game.

Can I Have One?
No, because you asked.

Board Questions

Hey! Not Many Go To This Board, So I Will Post My Thought On This In The Lounge!
This is a no-no. A huge one. Okay, so you are new here and you are used to some other board that allows this. We will let you go. But any older member should know that there are different boards for different subjects, all of which are visited frequently by people with those interests.

What Is The Arcade?
The arcade is a place to play some well-known video games against the scores of our fellow Blue Goop members.

What Is An Arcade Pass?
An arcade pass is bought in the store. It is so you don't have to pay for every game, but it expires and you need to buy a new one after a little while. If you play the games a lot, and it decreases your goop too much, then you should buy a pass.

What Is The Shoutbox?
The shoutbox is a handy way to communicate with other members. Like, for side conversation if you're bored, or to tell others to get on AIM. It can be used for most anything, but if you spam it up we come after you.

The shoutbox is currently down. It will be back soon!

What Are Moods?
Moods are something special you can choose after each post, that shows up in the bottom right hand corner. They are usually used to show...well...how you feel, though you can use them to hide super secret messages (dun dun dun)!

Why Are There So Many GIR and Invader Zim Moods?
Because they are the coolest moods out there.

Please note that currently the moods are down. They will, hopefully, be back soon. If they aren't, do not make too much fuss.

Can I Have A Specialized Avatar?
No, they are only for a select few.

My Avatar Wasn't Accepted And I Don't Know Why
Fighting will not get you anywhere in this case. You submit an avatar, and it isn't accepted. Do one of the following: send a PM to the icon uploader, or send a reply in the thread asking why. The uploader will then tell you either that it was assy, it was not 80x80 pixels, it was not transparent, it was too square, it violated the TOS, or it was too big in file size.

My Thread Was Locked And I Don't Know Why
If a thread is locked, do not make a new thread asking why. Send a polite PM to the Super Moderator or Administrator you think locked it asking why. Before you do, think about it. Your thread may have been locked because it started trouble, was spam, violated the TOS, or was just useless.

Can I Post Nudity?
No.

Can I Swear A Whole Lot Because I Am Cool And All Cool People Like To Swear?
No. Keep the swearing down to a minimum. We are not going to yell at you for saying "fuck," or "shit," here and there...but just try to keep most of your posts clean.

How Do I Put An Image In My Sig?
By using the IMG code. Go to User CP, then into your profile. Where you can enter text for your sig, type [IMG*]full url of image[/IMG*]. Just take out the *'s.

My Sig Image Was Deleted...Why?
Your sig images will be deleted with notice. Either a thread will be posted asking you to take it out, or you will be PMed. If you fail to respond to us by taking it out, we will take it out for you. Most common reasons for this is because it is directly linked to our boards, is causing problems with viewing threads, or is just too big. Please find an image hoster to host it for yourself.

Your Name Is All Colored! I Want Color! Give Me Color! Need Color! Now! Please, Can I Have Colors?!
Colors are for the superiors. No, you may not have them. We don't want you standing out, now, do we?

Please note that mod colors are also down. Sadly. But we're still beter than you are.

Visitor Questions

I'm From --insert optional board here-- And I'm Here Because They Banned Me There
Well, go you! Honestly, we don't need to know what board you came from. If you join here temporarily, just leave now. Blue Goop is not a board to go when you have no other choice, it is a board to go if you plan on staying.

Let's Go And Start Trouble At --insert optional board here-- Because They Banned Me And I Don't Like Them!
What you do outside of us is your problem, and Blue Goop will not take part in it.

Hey! I Have An Idea! I'll Advertise My Forums Through a PM! YAY!
Here's a problem we are currently having problems with. A PM advertisement is strictly forbidden. If we find out you happen to be doing it, you will recieve a 24-48 hour ban. No warnings. No second chances.
If you happen to turn someone who is PM advertising, please...PM a mod with their name, and a picture of the PM they sent you (PRINT SCRN, then to MS Paint and Paste). Goop will be rewarded, as well as trust.
Now, a PM is your business and the reciever of it alone. Feel free to do whatever the hell you want in them, but please do not randomly send out your forums.

Offenses and Punishments

What Are Warnings?
Warnings are simply warnings. We give them out to make you aware that you need to straighten yourself up, unless you want the privelage of going to the Blue Goop Forums taken away for a short while.

How Many Warnings Equals A Ban?
It all depends on what the warnings are for. It will take much spamming to earn a temporary ban, but not as much flaming. Porn usually gets you a ban without warning, as well as posting noticably large pictures in the shoutbox.

Offenses And What They Get You
Don't do anything here that you wouldn't do out in public. Now, this is a general statement that maybe 60 percent of all of you are civil people, and don't go streaking naked whenever you hear the word "library." Below are the two most common offenses we punish people for, but keep in mind there IS an assload of them.

Excessive Spamming- Small warning at first, if it continues a temporary ban.

Fighting With Superiors- Small warning, temporary ban, or a de gooping.

Edit Wars-An edit war is simply when a superior edits your post with a warning and you edit it back, either brewing up chaos, or deleting the original edit. For this, you will recieve a small de gooping, and a severe warning.

the punishment, as you see, isn't very harsh the first time. If it continutes, it will become more and more hard on you, and we'll be watching you more.

Board Descriptions

Okay, since all of you don't seem to know which board is which, use this...uh..."guide," in case you don't know where to post what. We should have less moved threads after this.

Research and Development is used for suggestions and feedback. It's just a fancy way of saying "bitch and moan to us, or suck up." Easy so far, right? Suggest a new board, or report a bug. Also, feel free to make commenting threads telling us how we can change for the better of the members.

Icon Board is used strictly for icons. No other threads will be permitted.

The Lounge...this is where the problems start. Post here daily news, tidbits in your life, or fun things. No spam, no "im new yo," and no "come see my forums, dawg." You aren't black. Trust me.

Signature/Images Board is used basically for new sigs that you have, and wish to show them off. Feel free to post anything sig related, or request a sig. There are also many different Sig Shops up and running from forum members that will make you a sweet peice of junk to put below your posts.

The Welcome Board is where we want YOU to make YOURSELF known to US. NOT the board you usually go to, and NOT the 'Lounge. Use the WELCOME BOARD.

Internet and Design is used for those of you who need help with your computer, or need help with starting up forums or a website. Please, do not post your forums. Use the stickied thread to do that.

General Gaming is where we have some trouble. You are not to post things about specific consoles, but rather things of all consoles. Example: "Who Will Win The Console War," but not "I'm Having Trouble With Halo!" Get as roudy as you like, but be sure not to flame or bash other members.

Microsoft Consoles is used to discuss the Xbox, and other leaps and baby steps that Microsoft is taking. DO NOT post things about other consoles here, unless it relates to the topic (which was not meant for other console discussion).

Nintendo Consoles/Handhelds is used to discuss anything Nintendo. Basically leaning towards the two NEWEST consoles, you can feel free to also discuss old-skool Nintendo here.

Sony Consoles is used to discuss the PSX, PSone, PS2, and the upcoming information on the PS3. DO NOT post anything about your Toejam and Earl III having trouble...or something.

PC Gaming is used to discuss (I bet you won't get this one) everything PC! From Command and Conquer: Red Alert, to Typing Town IV (I think that's a game), just go nuts (relating to your PC, and without many posts with vulgur language, keeping in mind going nuts usually leads to spam with belongs in the mad house)...go intellectual!

Movies, TV, Music and More is for Movies, TV, and Music. If there IS more, I'd like to see it. But it will probably not belong in that board. From Family Guy, to Phish, to -=insert movie here=-, you can tell us about your favorites and least favorites. Also, this board can be used to post information on upcoming DVD's, movies, TV shows, and CD's. What's YOUR favorite band?

The Sports Forum is for sports. The Super Bowl, the World Cup, and then that other one...or two. Anyway, post anything from dream teams to how cool Mr. Favre's name is when you try to pronounce it...I don't think I spelled his name right.

Trivia Board is my own (sort of) board. Every Friday, or so, I will hold a trivia. The winner gets a winner icon, some p00gerz, and bragging rights. If I cannot host it, someone else will. As of now, the trivia is on hold. Please visit www.gamerzlive.com/forums when the GL forums launch for the next two trivia rounds.

Sex, Health, and Dating has two different parts: Guys, and Girls. Post pictures of hot ones in their respected category, but remember that no nudity is allowed and will get you a warning...or ban, if you keep it up. You can also ask the guys, or girls, something relating to dating and health.

VB Codes

What Are VB Codes?

VB codes are specialized codes that you can use in this forum, as well as most other VBulletin forums. They include bold, italics, inserting pictures, URL's, and so on.
There are many codes that do not show up on the handy panel above where each post is typed (assuming you do not use quick reply every time). The following codes have been added as extras to the original jazz. Keep in mind that these codes will be updated frequently as more come into play.

To use these codes, just take out the *'s.

Strikethrough

Strikethrough is used to strike out the words you have chosen. It is done by using the code

and will turn out as enter text .

The spoiler code is used for spoilers. It is done by using the code

okay- heres what i did. big update.

i added a table of contents-type thing, i added board descriptions, and i started it anew. it is now the blue goop faq, and i decided that i might as well officially change the title while i was editing out all the gamerz goop references. i also added notes on how the shoutbox, mod colors, and moods are currently down. have fun with it. took some time.
