Default Animations: Help me!

I'm EXTREMELY bad at animations, and I'd like someone to teach me the ways of the animation. Start with something simple, like getting text to scroll left to right.

Ok, here's what you do.
1. Make the first frame. With its own layer
2. Make another frame with a copy of the first layer.
3. Then move this layer off the screen.
4. Go to the bottom and create a motion tween between the frames.
Boom! Done, text will move from one position to the other.

That's how I did it originally, but to get it to scroll smoothly, you'd need a billion frames, right?

Just put like 5 or 10 frames with like .1 seconds in between. or no seconds in between and more frames.

wut i did for my pic is i think just like 6 frames or so, and it looks pretty good IMO...not perfectly smooth though...i'll have to find my rotating sig that i made, it's smooth. i believe i used 12 frames for that one.

edit: ok, it's not as smooth as i thought, but here it is, this i made earlier on in my animated pic learning...process...
