No, of course it's better than if they starve.
Although, if the entire world went vegetarian, many hunger problems could be fixed. Of course, it's easy to say that when you're not starving. Meat is better than no meat.
But research shows meat does to your heart and arteries what tabacco does to your lungs.

Also, there are a lot of meat substitutes that taste extremelemy meaty, are healthier, and don't envolve any violent murders.

I'm sorry, but first off I hate veggies so what would I eat? I couldn't drink milk because it comes from poor little tortured cows, so I also could eat cheese and all other dairy products, I couldn't eat meat, forget about Jell-O or pudding because that contains geletin which is made from cow bones, can't eat eggs, because that comes from poor totured chickens, so what am I left with? Fruit and bread? No thanks

EDIT: oh and Adrian hun, you need to stop giving us all these messages about how meat harms us, meat only harms if it is eaten too much! If you skip the steak and potatoes every once in awhile for a salad you'll be healthier but a little steak won't kill you either. So it's just like everything else, in moderation it's fine.

You are mistaking meat for fat... the muscle itself won't harm you at all, the fat you eat does.

There is a reason why Humans eat meat....because its natural. If you are gonna nag at humans to stop eating meat, then you might as well tell lions to stop eating gazelle.

Are you at all aware of the number of deaths, of which there is no product or merit, that come from providing the vegetarian community with the food that it eats? I didn't think so. You also mention the food problems that occur on the planet. . Much of the land that is using to produce chickens, cows, pork etc... is not arable land, which means that the land is therefore being used efficiently for a population that is rapidly expanding as the years go by. Try and grow your vegan gourmet on eroded, non-fertile land, Adrian. Our primal instincts also dictate our implicit right to hunt, to be the predator. Of course, some methods of slaughtering animals can be classified as inhumane, but unfortunately our morals on the altruist plane should be respected inherent to a species. As I have pointed out, there are many animals killed and their carcasses left to rot as a substantive of thte vegan harvest. Explain that unwarranted destruction of life, would you? The longevity of the evolving species is suggested to increase on account of meat eating. Especially in today's agricultural community, you will find that harvested products are covered with pesticides and herbicides. . Hardly as healthy as you have suggested. And the quantities you would have to eat in order to satisfy the required amounts of nutrition, you would have a grossly harmful intake of these destructive compounds. Infants, having smaller stomachs, need nutrient dense foods. . Foods that originate from green sources are less nutricious than those from meats.

Moreover, take your ecofeminism somewhere else. Apparently you aren't aware of the different number of effects that are potential consequences of eating vegetarian, or the ecosystematical right and duty of humans as the head of the food chain to maintain proportionate amounts of animals such as bovines and poultry. The detrimental effects on the cardiac system are minuscule under proper physical conditioning, and unless you're a complete fatass, the risk is not significant. In the term of life that most significantly threatens the cardial health of an individual, they will be in a "near-humous" part of their life anyway, and if you weren't aware, being vegetarian can increase the speed and appearance of aging.

Staying true to your feminazi attitudes, you are once again trying to force people into accepting some sub-culture, alternative lifestyle load of horseshit that is no more a fact than the suggestion you merit some crazy sort of physical appeal.

Haha, "good reasons," if only they were true. Darth, you cannot comprehend the difference between A) Choosing a lifestyle and urging others to choose the same way of life, telling them of the benefits, and B) Forcing your views on others.
You can eat meat all you want... You don't seem to understand that I can be against something personally without trying to dictate the lives of others.

Coren, don't be silly. Visit any vegan or vegetarian store and you'll see that there are PLENTY of things you'd be able to eat. There are meat and dairy substitutes, and your diet could be virtually the same, simply with less fat, cholestoral, and dead muscle tissue.

Today is my 8th day. Yesterday I ate MorningStar brand "chicken" nuggets, which compare at 6 grams of fat (17 in real chick) and 0 grams of cholestoral. (45 in real chickrn)
