if you want a burger, go eat one. one vegetarian isnt going to change the world, ill tell you that now. youre trying to be a vegetarian.

i have a friend who is vegetarian. its because she hates the taste of meat. she only found out a few months ago what they did to the animals..how they made the food and all.

But...
Vegetarians are healthier and live longer than non-veggies.
Also, I've seen some of the things they do in slaugherhouses... If there were windows on those places, there would be a LOT more vegetarians. Oh yeah, and although "one vegetarian won't change anything" all the veggies in the US would. I mean, if every single vegetarian started eating meat there would be a much higher demand for meat - and more animals slaughtered. So, it does help. And it's a MUCH healthier way to live.

Yeah well, think about it dude!
I mean, when I come down in the morning, and my mum is frying bacon, and the smell, well, it's just unbeatable
But if you're a vegetarian, what you going to do? Get turned on by the smell of a lettuce rotting in the fridge?
Sorry about calling you dude, but I think "babes" might have gone down wrong....

I have been to the slaughter house, I'm eating a big hunk of chicken right now. I don't think it affected me all to much.

Sorry, it's cool that your going vegetarian but please don't turn into one of those mean veggie people, they suck.

At least what happens in the slaughter houses isn't as bad as getting eaten alive, which has been going on millions of years on earth through nature.

Well, I don't like bacon or pork anyway... so I don't lose much there.
I was talking to my friend about this today (she was veggie for 11 months but broke down at the mall and took a free chicken sample, LOL) and she said some of the fake-meat stuff isn't too bad. Besides, I'm big on pasta and that stuff.
I just realized that the fact that I won't dissect things in Biology (tomorrow we're supposed to be going crayfish... I'm not) is a bit hypocrtitical if I eat meat, and I don't think the taste of it is worth thinking about all the animals and what they go though.
Ah, yeah, and also... There's 13 million vegetarians in the USA. That's probablly something like 100 million less animals being slaughtered a year... so yeah, I wouln't call it "pointless."
And Dru, I realise that, but those animals haven't been kept in cages their entire lives that they can't even turn around in (many of the pigs and cows kept by the farms that supply meat to places like Burger King) only to have their throat slit becuase some lazy worker wouldn't at least stun them before he went for the kill.

Vegetarians may be healthier as long as they get the right nutrition, but I don't know...

For protein I heard that tofu, nuts, and beans might be good, but I can't be sure.

I do know a girl who's vegan. She is pretty disciplined about it too but she's cool and doesn't really attempt to "convert" anyone. I couldn't be a vagan though... most definately not.
