Actually, Aether, this is an example of sarcasm. Note the contrast between the text of my message and the link I provided. It gives you a clue as to the actual meaning of my post.

Also, since lulu is a French citizen bemoaning the "illegal war" being waged by the US, this particular juxtaposition makes my post all the more witty.

Once you understand the joke, I'm sure you'll want to click on hundreds of those little laughing guys.

There's a few other good ones in the "NutWatch" column as well. Actually, the entire site is full of hysterical pieces. From the "about the page", the poll on the left and the media critiques. I had a semi- regular blog a little like this page before. It could be summarized as so: "since I'm opposed to something we all (obviously must, of course, etc.) see is stupid, then the thing I'm saying must be true and sensible since it opposes stupidity. And, I'll even throw in some evidence for the skeptics, too, just don't ask me to report the sources so people can look at all of it. And if I'm not right, then it's at least food for thought!". But it's still very funny, how the NutWatch and the media critique differ very little. It's very sarcastic. Very american. To think, they have compiled a "Fun Stuff" section too.

I'm confused. Are you guys focusing on the messenger or the message? Just in case you believe the messenger is more important than the message, here's another link:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...topnews&sub=AR

And since you won't register, here are some selected quotes:

"The French military used overwhelming force Sunday to put down an explosion of anti-French violence in its former West African colony, deploying troops, armored vehicles and helicopter gunships against machete-waving mobs that went from house to house hunting for foreigners."

Helicopter gunships against machete-waving mobs - that's fair.

"In the second day of military operations, French forces seized strategic control of the largest city, Abidjan, commandeering airports and posting gunboats under bridges."

Isn't Ivory Coast a sovereign nation with a democratically elected government?

"France hit back within hours, wiping out Ivory Coast's newly strengthened air force..."

Good for you, France! We did the same thing to Iraq. But I guess what we did is different because... well, because... uh... well, because we're not French, of course!

One good thing to add with that kind of articles is "Mr ... Got payed X dollars/euros".
Should drive a few to apply for such good jobs where people can write stuff with no relation with their professional field and hence without the threat of any loss of credit.

On the other side, that's clear that the democratic french lieutnant is messing in ivory coast. His gang lord, the democratic us, who signed him an order to purify the area is going to lose patience with such an ackward member. Some would handle the situation much better.
