Default Wal-Mart and Capitalism

Wal-Mart is the embodiment of Capitalist Ideals. Agree or Disagree?

Wal-Mart is coming out with a DVD player that automatically skips over parts of a movie containing sexual content or intense violence. I guess this is what some dickwad considers an improvement.

I don't like anything about Wal-Mart, personally. They can represent whatever ideals they want.

I don't think they claim what I said, but it just seems to me that's how the situation stands. We can't exactly protest Wal-Mart without championing something other than capitalism.

Walmart is a union busting shitbag of a company, but people vote their indifference by shopping there. The public could put walmart out of business if they refused to shop there. Unfortunately, walmart normally opens its stores in the more backward areas of the country and the people there apparently don't realize that they are doing themselves a disservice by supporting walmart.

I have not shopped Walmart in over a year. I refuse to spend my money at that place. I don't care for their attitude, their way of treating their employees and I surely don't care for the quality they sell (as far as food goes).
The farmers market, the local meat market and so forth have reasonably priced products that have a heck of a lot more taste than the Wallmart competition....
(Waiting for Startup to rag on Texas for the farmers market etc again hehehe.... OOOPS... Gotta start the BBQ pit)

I love farmer's markets. We have them all over the city and the food is always the freshest you can find. (Remember that NY and NJ have MANY farms within a short distance of the city.)

BTW, congrats on not shopping at walmart. We don't have any walmarts around here and I have avoided them when traveling.

but then you get into the whole idea of exactly what sexual content is... if bits have to be exposed to qualify, you'd miss all the foreplay.
