Default Rumsfeld Sued For Warcrimes In German Court

An anti-(B)US(H) advocacy group has filed a criminal complaint against Mr. Rumsfeld and other high ranking US officials, see http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&lr...story%3D588467

Isn't it great, that in Germany we can trial foreigners for things they do abroad! Souvereignity? Ha! Not an issue for german courts. We will bring our laws to people all over the globe, whether they like it or not. Unfortunately at the moment Germany lacks the means to enforce its verdicts all over the planet, but maybe that changes in the future, so Germans again can subject the whole world to their justice.

because we feel the urge to let the whole world take part of our moral superiority.

Well actually it is mostly quoted to be a human or civil right group (depending on source), but you might argue that human or civil right group are inevitably anti-Bush.

A further embarassement for the US. It seems more like a case for the International Court of Justice, but since the US does not participate in the ICJ that is impossible (it even changed it's constitution to allow the US to invade an allied country, just in case a US citizen might be brought before the ICJ. The ICJ resides in the Netherlands).

Otherwise I agree that the German law is strange. Talk about unilateralism.

The point is to make a point. Anyway, it's not Germany, it's just a german judge.

Also they can't take him to the International Court of Justice, because the US is one of the few countries that did not sign the treaty to participate in the ICJ.
