This thing is getting more and more interesting.

http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.j...toryID=5156180

"WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld authorized the use of unconventional interrogation methods in Iraq to gain intelligence about the growing insurgency, ultimately leading to the abuse of Iraqi prisoners, the New Yorker magazine reported on Saturday.
Rumsfeld gave the green light to methods previously used in Afghanistan for gathering intelligence on members of al Qaeda, which the United States blames for the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, the magazine reported on its Web site.

The Pentagon, however, called the assertions, "outlandish, conspiratorial, and filled with anonymous conjecture," and strongly denied that Rumsfeld, who has been under fire for the prisoner abuse scandal, or any Pentagon official had sanctioned the interrogation program."

Yeah, but there is just one little problem with that, Lulu. He is not the sharpest nail on the block, chances are Rummsfeld doesn´t even know what seppuku means. He would probably think it´s just another japanese recipe for raw fish...
:rolleyes:

@Phunkie

There´s another article comming out tomorrow that proves Rummsfeld knew about it, and ordered it to begin with. The "Stern" reporters have copies of secret orders from the Pentagon, allowing the use of torture during interrogations to achieve better results.
Not only Rummsfeld knew about the existence of torture in US runned prisons, and not only he lied about it to the public, he actually is directly responsible for it!
But still, the Bushies won´t see this as sufficient grounds for resignation. This thing will get spindoctored just like every other accusation, and not before long people will have forgotten about it.
Even if Rummsfeld happened to kill someone with his bare hands, there would always be some people who regard him as a God, and will excuse his every deed. They will just say he did the right thing, that he is protecting America, that these men are evildoers not worth respecting the Geneva Conventions for, and all that bla bla bla, yadda yadda yadda...
You could accuse him of being a child molester, and still the bushies would excuse his every deed! For them, it doesn´t matter that he commited crimes, it doesn´t matter that people died because of it, it doesn´t matter that hundreds of people are now scarred for life, none of that matters to them. All they care about is protecting America from "evil", even if by doing it they become the very thing they sought to destroy...
