Default Obama vs. McCain

Let's have our election poll here.

They've talked about the war, the energy, their favorite music, their favorite movie, and about everything else. Who do you think will win? If you put much stock on polls Barack Obama seems to be in the lead.

Polls don't mean much to me, but in the end, it appears that Obama hasn't gotten the traction he needs from the things he's done. I mean he's been in all the news, he's been highlighted in his trip and yet he's still statistically tied with McCain who hasn't really been visible. I think McCain is biding his time (given the smaller budget that he has since he's accepting public funds), and he'll turn it up at the end of the summer.

Barack Obama really is doing well with the polls and the media but I think a large part of the US still isn't ready for a non-white American president.

What ever may be the case Obama seems to be having very strong grounds. There is going to be change now and he will surely make to the top.

I think it's too close to call. Some do not like having a black president. Others are against the war in Iraq. Others support the war. In any case, it's in the world's interest who the next president of the US would be.

Hmm, There's always a first time right? And if ever this is the first time to ever have an african-american president for US, then Goodluck to all and Hopefully be prosperous.

Is there really? Is there going to be a first time that a demon possessed chipmunk from Antarctica will become President?

This is, of course, absurd, but we say things like this all the time. I just wonder why. Is it to make us feel better about choices we make (or perhaps won't make)? Is it to mollify us to the idea that regardless of our preferences, we'll be stuck with something that we really don't want?

Don't get me wrong, I actually have no problem with a President from any ethnic background (we're all just human beings with different pigmentation), but if I agree with someone, I support them, if I disagree, I don't. I hope to never simply say something like "there's always a first time" to reason away my choice.
