Even the CIA admits having overstated/not told the truth about Iraq's posession of WMD's.
Further more, if they would have found anything worth reporting, it would have been all over the world press and Bush would rub his opponents face in it. They have not found a thing!

Of course not. And a nuclear weapon built to take up that irritating space inside a silo is just filler.

http://www.chronwatch.com/content/co...y.asp?aid=7664

And the mustard gas found before that was probably just some remnant of an old condiment manufacturing plant. It was also used as an IED but it couldn't be important because the press never reported on it.

I'm sure that if the damn UN, and its master the US, would've just left Hussein alone he would've continued along in the peaceful manner he's always shown.

Even if he wouldn't have, he still should've been left alone. It's not my backyard.

Huh? Did somone find WMDs in Iraq?
Yeah, it was an old artillery shell that the US saw as such an "imminent threat", didnīt you know? I can just see it now, Saddam ordering his troops to travel all the way to the US carrying a Howitzer in the trunk of the car, just to be able to fire it at US territory, yes sir!!
Or they could just travel to Mexico, and either fire it from there or use a "wetback" to act as a pack mule for it...
Using hot air ballons like the japanese did in WWII would be WAY easier, though.
Really high tech stuff, the troops in charge would have to pour and mix the chemicals into the shell using a funil...Great stuff!! State of the art stuff!!

I have to agree. Iraq should've been allowed to develop whatever nuclear, chemical or biological weapons she so desired. The UN, and especially the US, should've stayed way out of it. The cease-fire was the UN's and if she didn't mind it being flaunted then so be it. Iraq obviously wanted and needed the technology the US could've provided for her, we should've sold it to her. Probably not the technology to guide missiles to another continent, but certainly the short range stuff - say enough to reach Israel, Portugal, and westernmost France.

We're missing a HUGE opportunity here with Iran. Russia, France and Germany (as with Iraq) are getting all the sweet deals. We could be making a fortune.

I don't think so. Why? Can you not have WMD without uranium from Niger?

I can't wait to see this movie.

Michael Moore does go too far sometimes and that's always been his achilles' heel. Still, I like his books and movies.

I don't really see him as a liar, although he has perhaps done some questionable things to promote his new movie and fibbed in a previous book (link), a lot of stuff he wrote in his last book was already known. He is, in essence, a satirist and not an investigative reporter as many like to point out, but he draws upon facts to make his points. I still haven't seen any evidence where he makes insane accusations based only in fiction (a la Alex jones). If he really was that big of a liar, he would probably be out of money by now from all the slander/libel suits. He is supposedly more subdued in this movie, probably to help his credibility and give less ammunition to the opposition.

In any case, nowadays, with all the hate between the liberals and neocons, it's hard to discern the truth. Each side accuses the other of lying and so in the end everyone is a liar and should be ignored. I try to read both sides but have to admit that the likes of Ann Coulter and Bill O'Reilly always seem to be full of it.

When an average joe watches this movie, they will surely be deeply affected, not because it may be 100% true, but because he will see what Moore wants them to see. This effect goes both ways, like when Bush lied about the Iraqi connection with Al Qaeda. I guess turnabout is fair play. Luckily for Bush, average joes will not go to see this movie. They will go to see Spiderman 2.

All that being said, he is in it for the money and recognition as anyone else would be, and who can blame him? If he really did want as many people as possible to see his new movie as he says he does, he should just distribute on the internet for free or a small fee to cover his costs.

What will be interesting is how the republicans will try to minimize the impact of this movie. Try to stop it and it will just gain more recognition. Maybe the best thing for them to do would be to try to make a mockery of him and make people think that he is just a clown (some people always think that anyway), although that may backfire too. We'll find out soon...
