Default Kudos to King Abdullah

Recently Jordan's King Abdullah communicated to his Prime Minister that it is time for Jordan to fully oppose the ideology of killing those that are considered to be infidels. Part of this is opposing any militant groups that practice such an ideology (Hamas, Hezbollah and Al-Qaeda come to mind).

This, of course is in reaction to the November 9th bombings of hotels in Jordan. I suspect much of this is because it is finally hitting home that Al-Qaeda isn't looking out for the average Muslim. They aren't about Islam, they are about power and terror, and if declaring a Muslim to be an infidel gets it for them, they'll do it. Still, it is a strong move for a Islamic nation to oppose militant Islamic groups that target civilians.

I'm confused, so Jordan is offically against the killing of infidels and against any groups that are for the killing of infidels? Did I get that right?

King Abdullah WANTS Jordan to be against the killing of infidels...what the militant Islamic groups are supposedly doing. (according to zteccc)

To be short, King Abdullah is against these groups, like Al-Qaeda, although being a Muslim ruler himself.

What the hell guys? ALL MUSLIM LEADERS are against these groups that kill other Muslims and innocent people. All sane ones anyway. And all muslims are too.
Note the difference between Muslim extremists (ppl who do these acts) and actual Muslims.
For example, you won't go to a mall in Saudi Arabia and see people talking about the latest bombing and where should those crazies bomb next!!!

You're right, the sane Muslim leaders (not all) are opposed to these groups, but they aren't vociferously so, and they rarely take strong action to stop them (possibly because until recently, Israel and non-Muslims were the only targets). If they did take such steps, do you think that these groups would flourish as they do?

The real shame is that in not being vocal in their opposition, and in not taking steps to stop these actions, many people in the world get a skewed view of Islam.

It would benefit Islam if Islamic leaders were more outspoken against such groups. I applaud the ones who are.
