Default Iraqi nuclear equipment missing

http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exer...F6B012E641.htm

"IAEA: Iraqi nuclear equipment missing

Equipment and materials that could be used to make nuclear weapons are disappearing from Iraq but neither Baghdad nor Washington appear to have noticed, the UN nuclear watchdog has said.

Satellite imagery show entire buildings in Iraq have been dismantled."

Ahem. One of the fears that caused the invasion in the first place, something the invasion was supposed to stop, now actually might happen in reality because of it. Excellent work.

*yawn*
i posted about this half a year ago. you should really try to find a more up to date source for your "news".

from the aljazeera story you linked to from 10/12

from the washingtonpost articel i quoted in my post from 04/15
Quote:
Mohammed ElBaradei, the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, warned the U.N. Security Council in a letter that U.N. satellite photos have detected "the extensive removal of equipment and, in some instances, removal of entire buildings" from sites that had been subject to U.N. monitoring before the U.S.-led war against Iraq.
maybe those "journalists" at aljazeera dont know google or they are so incompetent, they would not even make it into the CBS 60minutes factcheckingdepartment.

They seem to have read the latest report from the IAEA. The summary is a rehash of old news, but ElBaradei seems to have written in addition that "the IAEA continues to be concerned about the widespread and apparently systematic dismantlement that has taken place at sites previously relevant to Iraq’s nuclear programme and sites previously subject to ongoing monitoring and verification by the IAEA." Link

But there was no specifics of when this "apparently systematic" dismantlement took place, or by whom for that matter. I guess it's tempting to assume that ElBaradei is referring to events within the last six months, the time since the last report from IAEA. But I don't know if that is entirely accurate. I really hope it's not.

Nobody in this country still believes that Iraq owned MDW. Saddam was a bastard. There are so many of them. Terrorism is a real problem. Was Iraq the first priority? I have doubts about that.
